Event provides needed funds for local non-profit that serves seniors, aging care receivers and family caregivers

The 5th Annual Aloha Live and Silent Auction benefiting Aloha to Aging, Inc. will take place on Saturday, August 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mansour Center (995 Roswell St. NE, Marietta, GA 30060). Tickets for the fundraiser are $40 in advance or $45 at the door and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts and entertainment from the Parrot Island Band. A cash bar will also be available.

The evening will feature a silent auction and a live auction with dual auctioneers Bill Borden and Kelly Stevens presiding over the live bidding. Auction items include: fly fishing, wild hog hunting, quail hunting, villas in Tuscany, South African safari, Lake Lanier getaway, unique jewelry, themed gift baskets, experience packages for restaurants, massages, salon visits and more!

Back by popular demand is the event Corks for a Cause – attendees can purchase a cork for $25, the number on the cork corresponds to a bottle of wine, with some bottles valued at over $75 each. In addition, Split the Pot raffle tickets will be available – two tickets for $20.

“Due to the increasing aging population in Metro Atlanta, the need for wellness, support programs and for services and education for family and individuals dealing with age related health issues, is great and continues to grow each year,” stated Dawn Reed, Executive Director of Aloha to Aging.  “The proceeds from the auction enable us to continue to expand our reach as an organization in order to meet the increasing needs of our community.”

Auction proceeds will benefit Aloha to Aging, Inc. programs including:

  • Wellness Programs – Tai Chi, Ageless Grace, Zentangle, Healthy Brain Game Day
  • Support Groups – for families dealing with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, age-related illnesses, caregiving
  • Educational Programs – Aging Sensitivity Simulation Training, Dementia 24/7, Caregiver Stress
  • Aloha Day Club – therapeutically structured adult day respite program for those 55+ who have mainly stopped driving
