After receiving both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at Georgia State University and completing her dental training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, she joined an East Cobb dental practice in 2012 and then later joined a practice in the Buckhead area. According to Dr. Azy, she was presented with the opportunity to start her own practice in 2019 and established the Boutique for Cosmetic Dentistry during July of that year.
“Starting my own practice has enabled me to incorporate my personal philosophy of how to treat patients,” says Dr. Azy. “I believe in quality, not quantity. I envisioned a boutique setting that would allow me to focus on each patient’s needs and comfort. And I like the fact that all decisions fall on me. If I feel a certain technology is needed, I invest in that technology. Also, my original East Cobb patients can more easily visit the location that I have chosen in Sandy Springs.”
Dr. Azy points out that the Boutique for Cosmetic Dentistry is open to patients of all ages for all general dental procedures, which include routine cleanings, fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, and dentures, to name a few. Her team of two dental hygienists, Shannon and McKenzie, and her assistant, Tateanna, share her patient-oriented philosophy of compassionate care. Ashley, office manager, and Shannon, marketing director, round out a dedicated group of individuals who set a tone of positive energy for the practice.
In addition to general dentistry, Dr. Azy specializes in cosmetic dentistry. “To us, dental care includes not only treating oral health, but also improving the overall appearance of a patient’s smile,” explained Dr. Azy. “We want our patients to be able to leave our office with a radiant smile they are proud to show off. As Dr. Azy speaks about her successful practice, she attributes this success in part to her mentor, Dr. Ronald E. Goldstein. Often called “The Father of Esthetic Dentistry,” Dr. Goldstein has been her support system since before dental school into the present. She worked in his Vinings office while in college and discovered her interest in cosmetic dentistry through his mentorship. Dr. Goldstein invited her to contribute to the third edition of his book, Esthetics in Dentistry. According to Dr. Azy, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be among other colleagues who are experts in the world of cosmetic dentistry.
Because of the COVID pandemic, this feature would not be complete without listing the safety precautions that the Boutique for Cosmetic Dentistry has taken to ensure patients feel completely safe during office visits. Each morning, the entire team meets to review the Center for Disease Control guidelines for changes that would affect office operations. Early on in the pandemic, Dr. Azy installed an air filter system that cleans the air between each patient. Upon arrival, employees and patients have their temperatures checked.
