Did you know that your old Christmas trees can be recycled and that one twenty pound tree takes up valuable landfill space comparable to a washing machine? Recycling trees creates mulch, fuel, wildlife habitats and other useful material. You can help “Keep Cobb Beautiful,” by recycling your old tree after the holiday season. Keep Cobb Beautiful will sponsor free recycling drop-offs.
Keep Cobb Beautiful is inviting everyone to “Bring One for the Chipper,” and recycle your Christmas tree after the holidays. As a part of a statewide effort to reuse Christmas trees, Keep Cobb Beautiful is hosting convenient sites where area residents can drop-off their trees. No other items will be allowed to be dropped off at sites. Cobb County Parks sites will accept trees from December 26 until January 7. All Home Depot sites will accept trees ONLY on Saturday, January 6. To volunteer at a site location, look on the web site at www.keepcobbbeautiful.org and go to the volunteer section for more information.
The following Cobb County Parks will accept drop- offs on January 6 only from 9am-4pm:
- Noonday Creek Park, 489 Hawkins Store Road Kennesaw, GA 30144
- Fullers Park (Lower Field), 3050 Robinson Road Marietta, GA 30064
Trees will be accepted only on January 6 at the following Home Depots:
- Home Depot, 3605 Sandy Plains Road Marietta, GA 30066
- Home Depot, 4101 Roswell Road NE Marietta, GA 30062
- Home Depot, 2450 Cumberland Parkway SE Atlanta, GA 30339
