Georgia’s 6th District (which includes East Cobb, North Fulton and North Dekalb) was represented by Republican Tom Price until he was sworn in as Secretary of Health and Human Serviceson February 10. A special election will be held on Tuesday, April 18 to fill the vacant seat.

The Rotary Club of East Cobb and the EAST COBBER, will be co-hosting a non-partisan Candidates Forum for those running for the Congressional 6th District seat on Tuesday, April 11. The Forum will be held from 6 – 9:30pm at Wheeler High School’s Performing Arts Center, 375 Holt Road in Marietta/East Cobb 30068. Ross Cavitt, WSB-TV Reporter has agreed to moderate.

Here are the candidates — 11 Republicans, five Democrats and two Independents — who have declared that they are running for office in the District 6:

Republicans: David Abrams, Mohammad Ali Bhuiyan, Bob Gray, Keith Grawert, Karen Handel, Judson Hill, Amy Kremer, Bruce LeVell, William Llop, Dan Moody, and Kurt Wilson.

Democrats: Ragin Edwards, Richard Keatley, Jon Ossoff, Rebecca Quigg, and Ron Slotin.

Independents: Alexander Hernandez and Andre Pollard.

All of the above-named candidates were invited to attend. From 6-6:50pm, candidates will meet and greet attendees before the Forum begins. From 7-9:30pm, the format for this forum will include a one minute opening statement, one minute to answer each question by each candidate and a one minute closing statement. Questions will be submitted in writing. Volunteers will be circulating before and during the forum collecting questions. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this nonpartisan event.
