Dear Friends of Chalktoberfest,

With heavy hearts, we must announce that Chalktoberfest, scheduled for this weekend,  October 10–11, has been canceled, including Saturday’s Craft Beer Festival.

With the National Weather Service forecasting a hurricane and possible flooding, anticipated high winds and heavy rainfall pose significant safety concerns. Out of an abundance of caution, we have made this difficult decision to protect our attendees, artists, volunteers, vendors, performers, and staff. In Chalktoberfest’s history, we have never faced a weather forecast this severe. We know how much our community looks forward to this weekend, and we share your disappointment.

To everyone who planned to attend, purchased tickets, volunteered, sponsored, or contributed to this year’s festival: thank you. Your enthusiasm and generosity make Chalktoberfest possible.

We will contact ticket holders and festival participants directly with information about next steps. Please watch our official website and social media channels for additional updates.

We hope you will join us next year to celebrate the extraordinary art, music, and community that make Chalktoberfest so special.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Please stay safe.

Warmly,Sally Macaulay, Executive DirectorMarietta Cobb Museum of Art
