Feeding Time at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Join a naturalist for an in-depth look at one of their resident animals as they are being fed. 4pm. DECEMBER 29
Coding Camp. Come to a fun three-hour session for third through fifth graders that will get your child excited about programming and coding. Instructed by East Cobb Robotics FTC team members, participants will explore coding theory and practice with hands-on “unplugged” activities. Facilitated by ECR members, campers will team up in small groups to tackle “plugged” activities to practice coding using different program simulations. DECEMBER 30
A Civil War Christmas. While Christmas is usually a time for celebration, it was not always so for the soldier on the campaign trail. Come join our Ranger for a 30-minute interactive program detailing what Christmas could have been like for the common soldier of 1864. Free. 11-11:30am. New Year’s Eve Bash at the Battery Atlanta. The kids/family party will feature circus acts, giveaways, and ice-skating. Stage show performances, ice-skating. New Year’s Eve at The Strand. A NYE Tribute: Queen & Tom Petty. A tribute to the music of Queen and Tom Petty, performed by the amazingly talented Georgia Player’s Guild (GPG)! The GPG is thrilled to be honoring the incredible musical legacy of rock supergroup Queen and American legend Tom Petty in a concert that is guaranteed to bring in the New Year right. 9pm. Since Auld Lang Syne. The Marietta Square Rings in the New Year with two celebrations. New Year’s Eve will kick off with family activities at 6pm with a drop at 7pm. At 8pm, a wonder filled evening celebration begins to welcome in the new year together at the stroke of midnight and runs through 1am on New Year’s Day. Chick-fil-A Bowl Peach Bowl, Parade and FanFest. Watch the parade, complete with bands, cheerleaders, mascots and more! Starts at 8am. Tai Chi Wellness Class. Please join us for free balance strengthening Tai Chi classes.
