Cobb County has released a preliminary project list for the 2028 SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) renewal and is seeking resident feedback. SPLOST is a voter-approved, six-year 1% sales tax used to fund capital projects such as roads, parks, and public facilities. The upcoming November vote will ask for a renewal of this existing tax. SPLOST programs have been advancing, enhancing and funding critical capital projects for the past 30 years.

The county’s current proposal includes a new building for the East Cobb Library. Previous SPLOST cycles have funded the construction of the Gritters, Sewell Mill, and North Cobb Regional Libraries, and the renovation of the Switzer Library. Active improvement projects funded through the 2022 SPLOST include the renovation of both the Stratton Library and the Vinings Library.
