With financial literacy declining in our country, there are kids right here in East Cobb who are bucking the trend and creating their own small businesses long before they even get to junior high.

Inspired by stories like that of 11-year-old Mikaila Ulmer on Shark Tank earlier this year, about 30 local kids are coming together this Saturday, July 16, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to show and sell their creations at the 2nd Annual Creative Kids Arts Festival. It will be held on the grounds of Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church.

Celebrate and enjoy the artwork, creativity, focus, and entrepreneurship of the youth in our community! Booths include anything from original artwork, used books, treats, or other items handcrafted by local children. Visitors will enjoy live music, face painting, free crafts, and terrific vendors.

This event is free for visitors and kids, although sellers are invited to make a donation to the Georgia Justice Project’s backpack initiative which provides school supplies for local children in difficult circumstances. Last year, donations totaled about $250; there are still open slots for adult vendors who cater to children for $40 per booth, which will also go towards the service project.

Want to come as a kidpreneur? Booths are FREE! You must provide all components of your booth (tables, decor, chairs, signage). This is a great opportunity for children to learn about business, marketing, and finance, as well as an opportunity for those that love to make and create to show off their work.

The Creative Kids Arts Festival will be held from 10am-1pm at Emerson Unitarian Church, at 4010 Canton Road, Marietta, 30066. For more information, CLICK HERE.
