EAST COBB SHOP OWNER WRITES COOKBOOKSmita Daya, owner of Olea Oliva!, has created a cookbook entitled An Odyssey of Flavors. Smita features recipes made from the most health-promoting ingredients on the planet. Her recipes feature 100% plant foods: vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and contain no animal-derived ingredients: meat (beef, pork, fowl, fish, seafood), eggs, honey, or dairy products. The cookbook is a “culinary journey” using Extra Virgin Olive Oils, balsamic vinegars and super spices.

Having lived in Zambia, South Africa, and England, Smita creates unique dishes and loves to spice things up in a healthy way. Smita is a self-taught chef and learned to cook from her grandmother and mother at a very young age. She learned the importance of using super spices and how to incorporate them in everyday cooking. Smita also holds a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from The T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at eCornell. Smita cooks with passion and loves to empower her customers to take control by holding workshops at her store.

An Odyssey of Flavors cookbook can be purchased at the Olea Oliva! store (located at The Avenue East Cobb) and on the store’s website, www.oleaolivia.com.
