Art-Barks and Purrs Festival
Come enjoy Cobb County Animal Control’s (CCAC) annual ART-Barks and Purrs festival! This family friendly event is part of CCAC’s efforts to find homes for homeless animals of Cobb County and includes vendors, a silent auction, food, and special adoption rates.

SUNDAY, JUNE 18 {HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!}
Juneteenth Celebration
Come join Atlanta History Center for its Juneteenth Celebration! This two-day celebration focuses on the commemoration of emancipation from slavery in the United States and also includes museum theater performances, kid-friendly hands-on activities, storytelling, live jazz & gospel music.

Bowl Free
Select bowling centers and schools around the country are participating in the first ever Kids Bowl Free program. This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer. Children whose age does not exceed a limit by a participating bowling center are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long, courtesy of the participating bowling centers along with the schools and organizations.
Cost: Registered kids receive 2 FREE games of bowling every day all summer long!

Miss Kim’s Story Time at Barnes & Noble
Enjoy story time at Barnes & Noble bookstore! Tuesday stories are Miss Kim’s Choice, so head to Barnes & Noble to hear her pick. It should also be noted that Barnes & Noble sponsors a Summer Reading Program for Grades 1 to 6; if a child reads 8 books, then they can choose a free book from a list of 20+ best-selling children’s offerings.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21 {FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!}
Go to the Beach!
Visit Cauble Park and relax on Acworth Beach! The beach area of the park features a white sand beach
as well as a roped off area for swimming. There is no lifeguard on duty and there is no charge for
swimming. The surrounding park offers boating, fishing, public restrooms, rental facilities, a volleyball
net, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more.

Teen Program: Medical Examiner
Ever wonder if what you see in your favorite TV crime show is true? Are you thinking about a career in
Forensic Science? Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to learn about what the Cobb County Medical
Examiner’s Office does for the community. Mike Gerhard is the Medical Examiner Operations
Manager and has almost 20 years of experience in the field. He will share stories, show pictures, and answer questions. Let’s make friends and learn together during this STEAM activity. Due to the graphic nature of the subject, participants must be 13 years of age or older.

Cherokee County History Museum & Canton Visitors Center
Beat the heat and come inside to learn about North Georgia’s history. The Cherokee County Museum features permanent exhibits about Cherokee county, interactive iPad presentations, and short videos about real Cherokee County citizens who have a story to tell.
