Friday, July 24: Beach Day at Acworth Beach

Visit Cauble Park and relax on Acworth Beach! The beach area of the park features a white sand beach as well as a roped off area for swimming. There is no lifeguard on duty and there is no charge for swimming. The surrounding park offers boating, fishing, public restrooms, rental facilities, a volleyball net, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more.

Saturday, July 25: Fort Mountain State Park

EAST COBBER FRUGAL FUNMOM FIELD TRIPS THIS WEEK: JULY 24 – JULY 30 1

A scenic drive on Highway 52 near the Cohutta Wilderness leads visitors to this mountain getaway. Hikers and mountain bikers will find some of the most beautiful trails in Georgia, winding through hardwood forest and blueberry thickets, crossing streams and circling a pretty lake. Hikers can also explore a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and an ancient rock wall which stand on the highest point of the mountain. The mysterious 855-foot-long wall is thought to have been built by early Indians as fortification against more hostile Indians or for ancient ceremonies. Visitors can cool off on a lakeside beach.

Thursday, July 30: The Rock Ranch

There are many wonderful things to do in Georgia, and you haven’t done them all until you’ve visited The Rock Ranch, centrally located near Atlanta, McDonough, and LaGrange. The Rock Ranch, founded by the late S. Truett Cathy of Chick-fil-A, is the best place in Georgia for family fun on the farm. The Rock Ranch is a 1,500 acre working cattle ranch with more than 35 fun rides and attractions, delicious concessions, and a Georgia Grown Farm Market. The Rock Ranch offers a full day of fun and entertainment for the whole family. During this time, they are waiving the gate admission fee and replacing it with a Punch Card system. To promote social distancing, guests pick an arrival time. The Punch Card can be used to choose what you want to do from attractions to food items.
