DeKalb-Peachtree Airport Airshow/Open House

Have kids with an interest in airplanes and helicopters? Then head over to DeKalb-Peachtree Airport’s annual Good Neighbor Day airshow, where they can play in a bounce house, enjoy helicopter rides, watch professional air performances, and much more!

This year’s annual Good Neighbor Day Airshow and Open House will be dedicated to DeKalb-Peachtree Airport’s extraordinary 100 year history.  From its beginnings in 1917 as a World War I Army training base to full-fledged Naval Air Station during World War II in 1942 through present day, DeKalb-Peachtree Airport is Georgia’s second busiest airport.

Cost: Parking is $10.00 per vehicle regardless of the number of occupants.  All Good Neighbor Day parking access is only through Dresden Drive via Clairmont Road.

Farmers Market

Children’s Museum of Atlanta

Treat the kids to an afternoon of play at The Children’s Museum of Atlanta for free on Tuesday, June 13. Kids can march to their own beat while experiencing the Blue Man Group: Making Waves exhibition, a multi-sensory exploration of sound that brings together science and art. On the second Tuesday of the month, Target covers the cost of admission. Target Free Second Tuesdays take place from 1:00 pm.-6:00 p.m. Reservations are not accepted, and you can pick up free timed tickets at the start of the Target Free Second Tuesdays hours.

Take a Bike Ride on the Silver Comet Trail

Meet a Cobb County K-9 Dog

Ever wonder what a police dog does? The Gritters Library is pleased to have the Cobb County Police Department’s K-9 unit put on a fun program for participants of all ages. Sergeant Maddox, with his K-9 partner at his side, will talk about what they do to keep our community safe. His highly-trained partner will follow simple commands and excite the audience with his skills. Children 9 and younger need to be accompanied by a caregiver.
