Saturday, June 13: Drive-In Movie Night-Disney/Pixar “Onward”
As we are in a summer of social distancing, pop-up drive-ins are experiencing a revival thanks to the winning combination of fresh-air surroundings and stay-in-your-car seating. Pack your car with your favorite movie snacks and drinks (no alcohol allowed). Gather your outdoor chairs and blankets and join the Cobb County PARKS Department for an outdoor movie experience. The park will open at 6:30pm. Staff will coordinate family art projects (with proper social distancing) and have a trivia question time prior to the movie. The main event is scheduled to begin around 7:30pm.

Sunday, June 14: Hike Sope Creek Trail to the Paper Mill Ruins
A hike on a favorite segment of the Sope Creek Trail offers mood-boosting fresh air and sunshine and provides a respite from the uncertainty around us. The hike reaches the Paper Mill ruins in just under half a mile. The mill was built in 1855 and was destroyed by Union troops during the Civil War, targeted for its role in paper production used for Confederate currency.

Monday June 15: Take a Virtual Tour of Windsor Castle in England
You don’t need a Royal invitation to visit Windsor Castle—thanks to modern technology, you can tour the Queen’s favorite castle from the comfort of your couch. This digital tour brings viewers inside the State Banquet in St. George’s Hall, the Waterloo Chamber, and the Crimson Drawing Room — each one more opulent than the next, with chandeliers, gilded ceilings, and rich tapestries and paintings. Zoom in and out of each space to make yourself at home, then click on information icons for even more details. Wednesday, June 17: Go on the Prowl for Owls
This is a bit of splurge and a drive, but well worth it! Learn more about the different types of owls found in Georgia and their eating habits at Chattahoochee Bend State Park. This state park showcases a spectacular tract of wilderness in northwest Coweta County. Located in a graceful bend of the Chattahoochee River, the park is a haven for paddlers, campers and anglers. At 2,910 acres, Chattahoochee Bend is one of Georgia’s largest state parks, protecting five miles of river frontage. Meet at visitor center.

Thursday, June 18: Spectacular Super Fairy Ball
You’re invited to celebrate all things superheroes and fairy tales at Mountain View Regional Library’s Virtual Spectacular Super Fairy Ball. Join in online as you dance the afternoon away and create some amazing crafts. Be sure to wear your favorite superhero or fairy tale costume for the virtual costume parade!
