Hike Sope Creek Trail to the Paper Mill Ruins
The hike reaches the ruins in just under half a mile. The mill was built in 1855 and was destroyed by Union troops during the Civil War, targeted for its role in paper production used for Confederate currency.

Swim at Wills Park
No neighborhood pool? No problem! Enjoy a day at Wills Park Pool. Amenities include a leisure pool with zero-depth entry, interactive play stations and a water slide, plus a 10-lane competition pool with depths from 4 feet – 12.5 feet, and two diving boards.

Green Meadows Preserve Tour
This 112-acre park is home to historical gardens and a community garden. Walking trails take you through woodlands and meadows offering a variety of plants, flowers, and birds for you to explore. Meet at 10am at the outdoor classroom near the white house at the entrance of the park. The program begins with a short introduction to the features of the park followed by a guided tour to the edge of the meadows. The tour will end with a visit to the Community Garden or you can start exploring the trails on your own. Tour will be guided by a Community and Master Gardener. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Consider bringing water and a hat for shade. It will be hot! Restrooms are available.

Fernbank Science Center
Where science is an adventure. Explore the Apollo 6, Live animal and Nikon Small World Photography exhibits. Take in a Planetarium show and Thursday and Friday nights the observatory is open from 9-10:30pm.

Glover Park Concert Series: Catalinas
Enjoy a concert in the park. Blankets and lawn chairs are allowed inside of Glover Park. No tents, canopies or other shade structures, including umbrellas, are permitted. Tables and chairs may be brought and set up in the street on North and East Park Square after 6 pm.
