Celebrate the 120th birthday of Debussy’s revolutionary Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun before wishing Maurice Ravel a happy 150th with a performance of his Rapsodie espagnole, a colorful piece Ravel wrote while reflecting on his Spanish ancestry that’s sure to leave you dancing in your seat during the final carnival scene. Finally, we travel north to Finland to celebrate the 160th birthday of Sibelius with a performance of his Violin Concerto in D minor by renowned violinist and soloist, Nadir Khashimov.
