Honest Fox Comedy Fest in Marietta

Nationally recognized comedians highlight Honest Fox Comedy Fest in Marietta

A new comedy fest is coming to the Marietta Square March 1-2 for a live taping and bringing a lineup of comedians known for their hilarity and notability in the industry. The Honest Fox Comedy Fest, hosted at the Alley Stage, is a new entertainment approach from Jared and Aaron Mittelo, agency owners.

“We are a national company that moved to Marietta from Dallas, TX a couple of years ago and we love Marietta Square. We’re part of the community,” said Jared Mittelo, Honest Fox Media Owner and President. Tickets are $36 and 4 shows are on sale through alleystage.org. A 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Two 90-minute shows are available each night but expect to sell out because of the recognizable talent, Mittelo said.

The digital brand-building agency is predominantly for comedians, driving their brand to deliver this kind of “PG” cleaner comedy.  Launched in 2018, Honest Fox Media has quickly become one of the most sought-after digital marketing agencies for stand-up comedians, propelling such names as Leanne Morgan, Henry Cho, Etta May, Jeff Allen and dozens of other comics to new career heights. Henry Cho and Etta May have once again become sell-out sensations and following her viral rise to fame through social

media, Leanne Morgan landed a Netflix comedy special titled “I’m Every Woman”.

The Honest Fox Comedy Fest will feature a similar style of comedy with Jon Reep, winner of NBC’s Last Man Standing, being the headliner each night.  Reep has won legions of fans in comedy clubs, on tv and in film. He is currently featured in Netflix’s “Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo”, his new standup special on Prime called “Ginger Beard Man” and his standup album “Ginger Pain.”

“Jon performs to sold-out audiences at clubs and theaters across the country and we expect him to be a big draw in Marietta,” Mittelo said. In addition, we are also featuring Ron Pearson Friday night, a true triple threat. He’s a comedian, actor and world-renown juggler. With appearances on The Late, Late Show, That 70’s Show and The Drew Carey Show, Pearson is a familiar face to tv comedy fans.

Trish Suhr, a Southern Belle from Kentucky turned California dreamer, has a knack for spinning a hilarious yarn and has graced stages from Nashville to Los Angeles. She is known for her Southern charm and California wit and has appeared on tv hits like “The Office” and “Clean House”. She is on tap to entertain on Friday night as well.

The final Friday appearance will come from Jenna Kim Jones, a funny, observational and self-deprecating humorist. She started performing standup while working at The Daily Show Jon Stewart and later did SiriusXM specials and has millions of viewers on YouTube. She’s entertained live audiences across America and enjoys offering funny slice-of-life comedy. Fans enjoy her Dry Bar appearances too.

Saturday, Reep will be joined by Chris Higgins, a native of Boulder, CO who now calls Chicago home. He is a staple at clubs and tours nationally. His new album, “Good Boy”  debuted on iTunes at #1 and he is featured in VICE TV’s show “Tumbleweeds” starring Killer Mike.

The third comedian for Saturday is “the bad boy of homeschooling”. Jeremy Alder’s smartly stupid, sweetly dry comedy about his weird childhood and young fatherhood has made him a favorite entertainer across the country. He has been a featured performer at numerous comedy festivals and his Dry Bar Comedy Special, “Purity Pants” is available on YouTube.

“In addition to our work and accomplishments at Honest Fox, we are proud of the amazing talent we work with every day. It has long been a goal of ours to bring that talent to a “stage of our own” and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with The Alley Stage at Marietta Square with our first-ever comedy festival and showcase,” Mittelo said.

“While our footprint in the industry hasn’t been small, we are, in fact, a small family-owned company. my brother and I are both dads raising young, growing families, so we love investing in the kind of content we want to watch with our families, as the majority of our clients could be classified as “clean comedians.”

“With the rise of comics like Nate Bargatze, we can see a shift in the industry where “family entertainment” is once again becoming mainstream,” Mittelo continued. “There’s an obvious demand for that kind of content, and it’s our joy as a niche comedy agency to find and develop more of those voices.

“When thinking through the planning of this event, Marietta could not have been a more obvious place to host it. Family is clearly embedded in the DNA of this town, and the Square is where my family spends so much of our time making memories with friends. This comedy festival and the many Honest Fox comedy shows to come are created for the families of Marietta.”

The intimate venue is cabaret seating (shared tables) for about 85 and suggested arrival is when doors open 30 minutes before show time. The stage is at 11 Anderson Street with free parking on Marietta Square.
