The City of Smyrna will honor Juneteenth with an evening of music, food, vendors, and family-friendly activities. From 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. on June 19th, Village Green Park will come alive with the celebration of the holiday.
Juneteenth honors the date in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, TX finally learned of President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, 900 days after it was signed.

Residents and visitors are invited to bring their blankets and chairs to enjoy the experience, featuring music, food, vendors, and a Kid Zone.

“The Soul Cartel” will play from 8:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
