LEGACY OF LOVE
In April 2024, Sabra Dupree will celebrate her proudest professional accomplishment – 25 years of business for Family Salon Kids Kuts, located at 2323 Shallowford Road, Suite 113 in Marietta. Sabra’s salon is nestled between Bruster’s Ice Cream and Domino’s Pizza . Initially a kids-only spot, Family Salon has evolved into a versatile space for all ages.
Originally from Chicago and one of ten kids, Sabra emphasizes family values. She credits the success of Family Salon to the support of family, friends and coworkers. With the business expanding, Sabra is looking to hire two team players who align with the salon’s family-oriented style.
“We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us,” says Sabra.
Alongside celebrating the 25th anniversary, Sabra honors the memory of her late husband, Danny Dupree , who passed away in November 2022. The couple, married for 36 years, fell in love in 1980s Georgia. Danny was an automobile refinisher for Atlanta Road Body Shop for 20 years. Sabra attend ed Chattahoochee Technical college and beauty school. She styled hair out of the house before opening the Kids Kuts salon with Danny in April 1999. A local dream became reality with the support of East Cobb neighbors and friends. Danny’s legacy continues through Family Salon’s love and dedication to serving the community.
Sabra and Danny have two adult sons, Dillon Dupree and Nathan Dupree . Both sons were actively involved in sports and extracurriculars at Lassiter High School . Dillon, now a Sales Manager with Ember Capital, served in The United States Marine Corps. He and his fiancé, Michaela Mishkin, are par ents to Broderick Dupree, affectionately known as Bubba Brody. Nathan, who earned a master’s degree in business assurance, played baseball on scholar ship at Kennesaw State University. Nathan and his fiancé, Brandy Welch, are parents to Avery Dupree.
Beyond the salon, Sabra contributes to raising her grandkids and enjoys riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Despite significant interior design changes, Family Salon remains a pulse of the East Cobb community, steadfast in treating customers like family.
“This team of women has surrounded me with so much love and compas sion over the last 15 months,” shares Sabra. “I can’t tell you how good I feel about my community.”
