Roswell Lavender Festival

Roswell Lavender Festival. The 9th annual festival, inspired by Barrington Hall’s own lavender queen, Evelyn Simpson, a descendant of Barrington King. The festival is a celebration of all things lavender and highlights the many varieties, uses, and folk remedies associated with this ancient plant. The festival activities include shopping, eating, lavender and plant demonstrations, live music, children’s activities, crafts, yoga & meditation, and a return to the Enchanted Fairy Hollow to craft your own fairy house.

Time: 10am – 5pm; Children’s activities 10:30 am – 2:30 pm.

The Rock Garden. Located behind the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist Church, a volunteer built, folk art pleasance is a must-see! In addition to the acre of flowers and greenery, there are more than 50 diminutive buildings all crafted from tiny stones, pebbles, shells and odd pieces. The miniature castles and cathedrals provide a perfect photo opportunity for children of all ages!

MONDAY, JUNE 10

Hansel & Gretel Gourmet Candy Kitchen Factory Tour. In a village where one might expect typical tourist fare, there is a remarkable candy kitchen that produces some of the finest hand-crafted chocolates & candies in Georgia.Free factory tours are offered and allow visitors a chance to see how candy is made as well as an opportunity to sample some of the treats

Cobb County Farm Bureau Farmer’s Market. Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme may be lyrics to a Simon and Garfunkel song but they can also be found at Cobb County Farm Bureau Farmer’s Market. A farmer’s market is a fabulous place to bring your children for learning about healthy food and expand their awareness of produce is a Farmers Market. Their goal is to promote agriculture and give consumers an opportunity to connect with local farmers and businesses.

Sprayground at Elizabeth Porter Park. Kids of all ages can cool off and have fun. Bring a towel, and a picnic. Concessions are available.

City Green Live Free Concert Series. Cosmic Charlie, originating as “one-night-only” Jerry Garcia birthday tribute, word spread quickly that this was no ordinary musical confluence. Come enjoy this twist on the Dead’s Dead’s energy and style. The result is healthy balance of creativity and tradition. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Food and drink is available on site, or bring your own. Only alcoholic beverages sold on site are allowed.
