EVERY THURSDAY

Ukulele Club at JMEC. Come and learn new songs and enjoy playing your Ukulele in a group setting. Players will learn chords and strumming techniques while learning new songs. Roswell Summer Puppet Series.  Nationally-renowned puppeteers bring all varieties of puppets and marionettes to the stage for a collection of whimsical and captivating performances.  Monday-Saturday:  10am.  Additional shows Wednesday and Friday:  1pm.  No performance on July 4th. Jukebox Giants: Motown and More! Our nation’s birthday is celebrated coast to coast with fireworks, picnics and festivals. Metro Atlanta is no different. Several cities have Fourth of July events that offer a fun time for your family. Here are some great ways to celebrate Independence Day that are just a short drive away:

Star Spangled Spectacular Saturday and Family Fun Festival sponsored by Kennesaw State University. This annual event features a family fun festival followed by a patriotic concert with performances by the KSU Big Band and KSU Summer Orchestra, closing with a spectacular fireworks finale. Pre-concert family festival activities start 4pm. Concert begins 7:30pm. FREE. Kennesaw State University Campus Green, 565 Cobb Avenue.

Concert and Fireworks sponsored by The City of Acworth the Acworth Business Association. Live music will start at 4pm. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30pm. Food vendors will be on site. Celebrate Independence Day with family and friends at Wills Park! Live music starts at 6pm, featuring local bands: Alpharetta City Band and Serious Business. Annual Dunwoody 4th of July Parade hosted by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association and the Dunwoody Crier newspaper. Begins at 9am. Features marching bands, local celebrities, and floats. Festival with live entertainment, activities, children’s area, and Dunwoody United Methodist Boy Scout barbeque. Parade starts at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Road and Jett Ferry Road, follows west on Mt. Vernon to Dunwoody Village at 5483 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody. Spectators are encouraged to set up chairs along Mt. The King Family, who built Barrington Hall, held a 4th of July Barbeque for their friends and neighbors in the 1800’s.
