“Alice in Wonderland” Family Movie. Tumble down the rabbit hole to Wonderland with Alice in this movie inspired by Lewis Carroll’s beloved novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” Watch the Disney animated classic “Alice in Wonderland,” which is rated G. Many Wonderland inspired and related books will be available to checkout and a small craft project will be available for children as well. The movie will be shown in the Youth Services Department at the Switzer Library at 3 pm. on Saturday June 4.

Cat Adoptions. Fancy Feline Rescue of the South conducts cat adoptions at Petsmart in Kennesaw. Fancy Feline Rescue of the South is a no-kill, free-roam cat adoption and rescue organization for cats that are homeless, abused, or no longer wanted. Loving fancy felines looking for their forever homes. Come and spend time with them; adoption fees are reasonable and all cats are fully vetted. If you can’t adopt, you can donate to help with vet bills and daily care of the furry friends.

Roswell Puppet Series: Hansel and Gretel. The timeless story of Hansel and Gretel brings some of life’s most important lessons to the stage. Exquisite marionettes, costumes, and settings combine with the spellbinding melodies of Engelbert Humperdinck in this presentation of one of the most classic of all fairytales.

Fountain of Rings. Come and enjoy the world’s largest interactive fountain! Featuring the Olympic Ring symbol, the Fountain of Rings is the centerpiece of Centennial Olympic Park and is one of the most recognized landmarks in Georgia. There are four daily shows and each show includes a selection of songs.

Sandy Springs Museum Mascots Sandy the Chipmunk and Spring the Turtle help the Museum’s youngest visitors learn history through an interactive program that teaches counting, letters, colors, and shapes. This recurring program on the 2nd Wednesday of each month is designed for children ages 2 to 5.

Martin Luther King Jr. Birth Home. Tours of the birthplace of the great Martin Luther King Jr. are offered daily. Each tour lasts about 30 minutes.
No special arrangements are needed since most of the park is self-guided. However, you will need to register to tour the Birth Home of Dr. King. Reservations for touring the Birth Home are handled on a first-come first-serve basis the day of your tour, in person. No advance reservations can be made.
There are only 15 persons permitted on a tour. Tours fill up quickly, so arrive early in the day. Groups can reserve up to three spaces (45 persons) the day of their tour.
Obtain your free Birth Home tickets at the information desk located inside Freedom Hall at The King Center.
Cost: Admission and Parking is FREE

The Abbey Church at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to be Catholic to visit the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Ga. In fact, the resident monks welcome everyone, regardless of religion. The Monastery is located about 40 minutes east of Atlanta. The Monastery is a great destination for a family bike ride.
The Monastic Life Heritage Center opened in 2011 and is the center of the visitor experience. A museum offers a history of the Trappist monks, as well as history of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit itself. The main museum is located in the barn that was the first living quarters for the monks when they arrived in Conyers from Kentucky.
Cost: FREE (Suggested donation of $5 for the museum)
