Four lodges feature comfortable accommodations and full-service restaurants. For $89 a weekend night, couples can enjoy a romantic getaway at Unicoi State Park, located near the quaint Alpine village of Helen. For golf lovers there are well-manicured golf courses at Little Ocmulgee and George T. Bagby state parks with lodges. Couples looking for a cozy escape can choose from approximately 30 state parks with cottages. For $86.25 a weekend night, travelers can enjoy a two-bedroom cottage at F.D. Roosevelt State Park near Pine Mountain. Georgia State Park cottages feature well-equipped kitchens, comfortable furnishings, and warm fireplaces or wood-burning stoves. In addition to the popular Georgia mountain facilities at Cloudland Canyon, Vogel, Fort Mountain and Black Rock Mountain state parks, other inviting locations include Florence Marina State Park on Lake Walter F. Campsites at Skidaway Island State Park near historic Savannah, and most other state parks in Georgia, are only $18.75 on a weekend night. No RV or winter tent? Rent a yurt, which is like a wooden and canvas tent with deck, picnic table and grill. Yurts can be found at Red Top Mountain, High Falls and Fort Yargo state parks.
