The East Cobb Quilters’ Guild is excited to host its Annual Community Service Guild Meeting on Friday, October 25, 2024. This special event will highlight the guild’s dedication to giving back to the community through the art of quilting. Several representatives from local organizations that have benefited from these donations will speak, including Andrea Rapowitz from Cobb County Senior Services/Meals on Wheels, who will discuss the placemats received; Carol Kratochvil from Northside Hospital, who will highlight the scent pads; and Lori Beth Blaney from Rachel’s Gift/Children’s Healthcare, who will share the impact of bereavement diapers.
Additional speakers include Mallory Mason from the Barbara Crafton Center at The Extension and Deahnna Smith from Cobb County DFCS, both of whom will talk about the quilts their organizations have received. Barbara Means from Ryan’s Case for Smiles will round out the list by discussing the pillowcases provided to children in need.
The meeting, held at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, GA, will also feature a “Parade of Quilts,” showcasing around 50 quilts that will be donated. Join us as we celebrate another year of crafting with a cause!
