Growing fruits and vegetables seems overwhelming to most people, but it’s actually much simpler than it sounds. Plus you don’t have to trade in your suburban or urban lifestyle. All you need are a few square feet of the great outdoors, a water source, and a little time.

Learn how to grown your own food during a four-part series of workshops that will explain how to prepare the site, select crops, manage the garden to promote productivity and harvest for maximum freshness and flavor.

University of Georgia-Cobb Extension staff will host the series:

  • From the Ground Up
    6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 29
  • What to Plant When
    6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 5
  • When Bad Things Happen to Good Plants
    6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 19
  • Into the Kitchen
    6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 3

The pre-registration deadline is March 15. There is a $35 free for one for all in the series, with payment by cash or check made out to “Cobb 4-H Club.”
