Trail Hikes. A docent guides you on a journey through the Chattahoochee Nature Center trails using biofacts and activities to spark you “natural” curiosity. 1pm. East Cobb Islamic Center (ECIC), is offering a free medical clinic with laboratory work and prescription assistance to uninsured/underserved members of the community. Boots & BBQ Fundraiser benefitting students participating in the MDE School’s Life Skills & Job Coaching programs. Hummingbird Banding presented by Smith-Gilbert Gardens (SGG). SGG has teamed up with Birdwatcher Supply to catch and band hummers! Sisters in Crime Writers Club Meeting. Sisters in Crime is a national organization of writers, published authors, and readers of mysteries, thrillers, and suspense novels. The Atlanta Chapter gathers monthly to host professionals who are invited to speak to our group about an area of expertise related to crime fiction writing. There is an optional dutch treat lunch at a local restaurant afterward. Our group is made up primarily of women, but we welcome men (called “misters”). 10:30am-12:30pm.

Pop-In for Pop Culture: Alaska, the Last Frontier! Come and Explore the Museum in a whole new way! Every 2nd Tuesday evening the galleries will “Pop Open” for a night of Pop Culture from the 1950s and 60s. Enjoy reminiscing about the music, food, games and so much more! Gun Safety Class. The September Meeting of Cobb-Marietta Retired Educators Association will be held Thursday, September 14 at First United Methodist Church in Marietta.  Guest speaker, Bill Johnson, will share a presentation on photography. We will also be joined by representatives from Shriners International. Our monthly community service project is to collect gift cards for the Calvary Children’s Home.  Lunch is available for a cost of $15.00.
