Marietta Golden K (MGK) had a great year of Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army in 2015. A special thanks goes to Rick Reader our chair this year for his hard work, and Salvation Army Capt. Chris Powell and Cadet Adolph Aguirre for their support.
MGK raised $5,248.71 this year in the Red Kettles for the Salvation Army. That was $61.53 less than last year, but, there were fewer shifts this year. Marietta Golden K did 48 shifts, 89 volunteer hours (that’s $58.95 per volunteer hour or $109.31 per shift, which is higher per shift than in 2014). Congratulations MGK!
The Bell Ringer of the Year: Chris Vail with eight shifts. But not so fast Vail, there would have been a tie had Rick Reader not been “too sick to ring” for two shifts. He tied with Bud Loewenthal for second with six shifts. MGK also had two Kiwanians tied for fourth: C.W. Marlow and Tim McDaniel with four shifts each.
Kiwanis Club of Marietta Golden K meets at East Cobb Senior Center, 3332 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta / East Cobb every Thursday at 10 a.m.
