The Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District announces the 12th Annual Water Drop Dash 5K on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, GA. This is a flat and fast course along the banks of the Chattahoochee River presented in celebration of the national EPA WaterSense Fix a Leak Week March 18-24. Fix a Leak Week reminds homeowners to check their plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks to save two valuable resources: water and money.

Runners and walkers will have the option to participate in this Peachtree Qualifying race at Chattahoochee Nature Center or register for the virtual and ghost runner options. Virtual options are available for the 5K and Fun Run. All in-person runners will receive a finisher medal.

The race is held along a beautiful, flat, and scenic stretch of the Chattahoochee River, starting and finishing at Chattahoochee Nature Center. The Fun Run gets all ages outside on a one-mile course while learning about water conservation, too. The post-race Water Festival will be full of resources, giveaways, and activities from local water utilities and sponsors, along with free admission to the Nature Center on race day. All 5K registrants will receive a race number with a chip time that lets them qualify for the following year’s AJC Peachtree Road Race. 5K runners will also receive free race photos from True Speed Photo.

Tamara Kinmon, Senior Director of Events, Camp, and Marketing for the Chattahoochee Nature Center, said, “We are collaborating with the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District on this fun event to help increase awareness about the importance of water conservation and the valuable resource the Chattahoochee River plays in the lives of all of us across the region. We look forward to celebrating the 12th Anniversary of the Water Drop Dash.”

“We are thrilled that the Water Drop Dash has become such a popular event,” said Sarah Skinner, manager for the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District. “It’s such a fun way to enjoy the amazing Chattahoochee Nature Center – while also bringing awareness to the importance of water conservation and EPA’s WaterSense Fix a Leak Week.”

Runners and walkers can register  at waterdropdash.com or in person at local Big Peach Running Co. stores. Advanced registration is $45. On the day of the event, registration increases to $50. Sponsorships are also available at www.waterdropdash.com/sponsors.
