LOCAL BUSINESS & COMMUNITY LEADERS RAISING FUNDS FOR EAST COBB PUBLIC SAFETY CELEBRATIONS 7For the last seven years a group of local business and community leaders have worked together to raise funds for two annual events to honor and recognize our community’s public safety heroes. In the Fall of 2019 the group hosted the officers and their spouses from Precinct 4, for an evening of fun and fellowship at Olde Towne Athletic Club. In the Spring of 2020 the annual Cobb County Fire Department’s annual awards banquet, also scheduled to be held at the club in East Cobb, was postponed due to the pandemic.

While the police officers and firefighters continue to provide the community with exceptional ‘round the clock services, due to COVID-19, the group is unable to honor these heroes with in-person celebrations. The committee is continuing to raise funds however, and plans to sponsor the police precinct’s holiday party in early December. In the event that this is not possible, the group will have a special holiday meal delivered to Precinct 4. Also planned are special deliveries for the fire stations serving the East Cobb community. The committee looks forward to being able to continue the traditional events in 2021.

“We are honored to continue to partner with Cobb County Public Safety Foundation, Inc., enabling us to recognize and celebrate our heroes using tax-deductible contributions made to the Foundation. We are especially grateful to the East Cobb Business Association and the Cobb Chamber’s East Cobb Area Council for their continued support as our co-host organizations, and to Wellstar Health System and the Rotary Club of East Cobb for their presenting sponsorships. Our sponsors and donors have been incredibly generous over these last several years. From businesses and civic organizations to individuals, schools, and churches, we have been able to thank and celebrate these true public servants for all they do to keep our community safe”, says Susan Hampton, co-chair of the East Cobb Public Safety Celebration committee. Co-chair Kim Paris agrees and added “We are so proud and grateful for the hard work of our committee and the continued support of our community. The outpouring of support year after year has been amazing, and in 2020, even faced with the challenge of the pandemic we have received extraordinary support from donors.” Information on how you can contribute is included in this issue.
