In the bustling educational landscape of East Cobb County, the East Cobb County Council of PTAs, or the ECCC PTA, stands as a formidable advocacy and support association that is comprised of nearly 25,000 members across 35 schools. We support local unit PTAs at Kell HS, Lassiter HS, Pope HS, Sprayberry HS, Walton HS, Wheeler HS, and their feeder schools. This month’s cover features the Executive Board, comprised of President Tammy Andress (Lassiter HS), Vice-President, Nikkia Velazquez (Kincaid ES), Secretary Heather Rees (Addison ES), Treasurer Jolynn Hardizi (Mabry MS) and Parliamentarian, Teri Singer (Lassiter HS), who are vocal proponents for the benefits and climate enhancing programs that PTAs brings to their schools.
The ECCC PTA works to foster a strong sense of community in the East Cobb area by providing a platform for local PTA leaders, students, teachers, and administrators to collaborate and address local educational needs. They facilitate various programs and events that enhance student learning and well-being while also advocating for necessary resources and policies at the district level. By uniting diverse voices, the ECCC PTA empowers families to contribute meaningfully to their children’s education and overall school experience.
