The East Cobb tennis community is coming together to honor the life and legacy of their late teammate, Misty Sheldon, through a charity tennis tournament supporting the fight against Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC).

Misty’s daughter, Elvie, bravely battled RMC before passing away in January. During that time, Misty openly shared her journey with many local moms, and the East Cobb community rallied around her with love and support. Determined to raise awareness for this aggressive and rare cancer, Misty became an advocate for RMC education and research. Heartbreakingly, the profound loss of Elvie proved too heavy to bear, and Misty herself passed away this August.

Now, Misty’s former teammates — Chrysti Miller and [name of second organizer, if desired] — are honoring their dear friend by continuing her mission. The Love-ALL Tennis Tournament will raise funds for the Chris “CJ” Johnson Foundation, the organization chosen by Misty’s family to help bring awareness and hope to those affected by RMC. Tennis was a sport Misty loved deeply and the way so many in the community — including Chrysti and her co-organizer — first met both Misty and Elvie more than ten years ago.

All proceeds after event costs will be donated to the Chris “CJ” Johnson Foundation, helping continue Misty’s goal of educating others about RMC and supporting affected families.
