Good Mews Spring Flea Market. Find great bargains on a variety of items. Saturdays and last Friday:  10am-5pm.  Sundays:  12-5pm. All proceeds benefit Good Mews Animal Foundation, a local non-profit organization which operates a volunteer-based no-kill shelter for homeless, abused, and abandoned cats.  Donations for the flea market accepted behind the building every Saturday (10am-2pm) and Sunday (12-3pm) until May 7. MAY 12

National Historic Preservation Month Celebration. May is National Historic Preservation Month. Cobb Landmarks invites the community to join us at the Marietta Historic Preservation Commission’s annual preservation celebration. This year, the event will be held at one of Marietta’s most notable historic residences, Ivy Grove. Now owned by Philip and Elise Goldstein, Ivy Grove was built c. 1843 for founding Marietta citizen Edward Denmead in the Greek Revival style popular at the time. The home has undergone a series of renovations and reconstructions through the years, but it still retains the grandeur of the original home. It is surrounded by beautiful historic gardens and pastoral fields. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about historic preservation activities in Marietta and to see one of Marietta’s most beautiful historic homes. May 11, 5:30pm-7:30pm. Admission is free.
