Miss Cobb County 2024, Audrey Kittila, and Miss Cobb County’s Teen 2024, Carrington  Manous, were recognized for their community service work with House and Senate resolutions  at the State Capitol recently. Ms. Kittila, 21, is working  to reduce the rate of school dropouts through her  program, “Education for All.” Through her initiative Carrington Cares #DecodeDyslexia, Ms. Manous, 15,  is involved educating families and students on how to  deal with the many issues of dyslexia. 

The highlight of their year of service will be the  state competition set for Columbus, June 12-15. Ms.  Kittila will vie for the title of Miss Georgia with the  winner advancing to the Miss America Competition,  while Ms. Manous will compete for Miss Georgia’s  Teen who moves on to Miss America’s Teen  Competition. Dr. Chris and Brenda Kittila are the parents of Miss Cobb, and the parents of Ms. Manous  are Kenneth Manous and Shuante and Darrell Dial.

The next Miss Cobb County and Miss Cobb  County’s Teen will be named in the 66th annual competition set for the Jennie T. Anderson  Theater in Marietta, Aug. 3. Contestants for Miss  Cobb must have a birth year of 1998 through  2008, while the teen division is open for birth year  2008 through 2012. Judging is based on private  interview, talent, fitness and on-stage conversation. The Miss Cobb County Competion is  sponsored by the Miss Cobb County Scholarshp  Program, Corp., composed entirely of community volunteers. The pageant was first staged  by the Kennesaw Mountain Jaycees in 1958.  The program empowers young women through scholarhip, leadership and community service.
