Julie Guy is not afraid to stand out, and she often does as a woman and mother in the male-dominated world of plumbing. In 2019, Guy launched Southern Phoenix Services. Her family first company is located at 9801 Main St. in Woodstock and provides 24/7 licensed and insured residential plumbing solutions. Guy’s first brush with water pipes arrived in 2011 when she began marketing and advertising for a friend’s plumbing business. After eight years of firsthand industry experience, she was ready to build her own plumbing business. Luckily, Guy learned discipline and entrepreneurship from an early age as the daughter of a United States Army Sergeant First Class and one of six children. She remembers mowing grass for neighbors in Paulding County to pay for roller skating – a pastime she still enjoys with her kids at Sparkles Family Fun Center.
From toilets to tankless water heaters, Guy loves to share her plumbing expertise with customers and peers. She is dedicated to her team of eight’s continued education of general plumbing, sewer, and gas services. Southern Phoenix Services is a family-owned and operated business. As founder and owner, Guy treats her team and customers like one big extended family. She even attended classes at the Georgia Plumbing Institute alongside her adult son, Albert. Today, Albert plumbs with Southern Phoenix Services and during the summer, Guy’s oldest daughter Felicity helps with marketing and sales. Guy’s youngest daughter Charlotte, age 8, is the company’s biggest cheerleader. She loves to join her family on service calls and at community events.
Knowledge is power and both come with an obligation to give back, according to Guy. Southern Phoenix Services donates money to local charities and organizations every month. Guy prioritizes sponsoring programs that benefit the education and health of underserved youth, veterans, and senior citizens.
