An eclectic group of mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home life, the tweens spell their way through a series of [potentially made-up] words hoping to never hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. This show is a delightful den of comedic genius! Please note the rating for this show is PG-13 due to some mature/immature language and subject matter.

There is a combination of twists on language, visual gags and improvisation so every show is different! Anyone who survived junior high can relate to this honest and hummable comedy, which won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical.
