Powers Ferry United Methodist Church announced that Rev. Larisa Parker will serve as pastor for Powers Ferry United Methodist Church. Her first worship will take place on Sunday, June 19. Most recently, she has served Faith UMC in Smyrna as it merged with Cumberland UMC to become a new church, Covenant UMC. Prior to serving in the Smyrna area, she served in Athens and Alpharetta. Rev. Parker has a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a Master of English from the University of Florida. She and her husband, Ken, have two children: Susannah, who is a student at Campbell High School, and James, who is a student at the University of Georgia.
