Go wild in Roswell while celebrating the beauty of butterflies, one of the many pollinators that helps the Chattahoochee Nature Center’s gardens grow as they fly through the air.   Celebrating 20 years of fun, the annual Flying Colors Butterfly Festival is a wild extravaganza focused on the beauty of butterflies at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, a premier nature oasis. Join us as the air fills with butterflies set free during the releases. Butterflies attract us with their ethereal flitting, here then gone. Experience this rare and magical wild enchantment. Witness nature’s pollinators and enjoy a magnificent show featuring live butterfly releases, face painting, crafts, live musical interludes, yoga class, festival food, and fun in the native butterfly gardens.

The new and expanded “Butterfly Encounter” tented exhibit allows visitors to hand-feed free-flying butterflies. Our experts will be on hand to give you advice on how to attract pollinators to your own garden. Pollinator and host plants native to Georgia will be on sale. Bring your camera to capture these fantastic fluttering creatures up close as these illusive insects land on people and flowers. Children are encouraged to wear their butterfly costumes.
