August 12th, 2019 marks The Avenue East Cobb’s 20th anniversary as East Cobb’s premier shopping center.
The Avenue was a new concept embraced by the community when it was first introduced to the retail world in 1999. This new “lifestyle” concept mixed national retailers, local merchants and specialty restaurants in an upscale, open-air setting that encouraged guests to stroll, relax and stay awhile. The “Main Street” design allowed shoppers to step right out of their car into a store during a time traditional indoor malls were the norm.
Since its opening, The Avenue East Cobb, located at 4475 Roswell Road in Marietta, has been a destination for regional residents. The center offers guests endless options to eat, shop and play with more than 46 merchants and various monthly events. Consistency and relationships have been the keys to the success of The Avenue East Cobb over the past 20 years. Management has always been focused on enhancing the customer experience, being responsive to merchant concerns and needs, and building loyalty with vendors. To help build on the experience factor, the Avenue East Cobb has hosted new community events throughout 2019 – events like Spring Festival in April and an outdoor movie series on Monday nights this summer. Plans for additional new events include Canines at Cobb, a pet adoption event on Aug. 31st, and a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Nov. 29th, are underway.
There are 15 stores in the current Avenue East Cobb lineup that have been there since the very beginning. These include Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, the only Origins in the state, Victoria’s Secret and more. The most recent additions to the center include K Squared Artisan Boutique, Olea Oliva!, CAS Med Spa, Ginny Marie’s Boutique and Xfinity. Restaurants include Beni’s Cubano, Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, Stockyard Burger & Bones, and Drift Seafood & Oyster Bar, the recent winner of AJC’s “Best Seafood Spot in Atlanta”.
