Former weight: 232 pounds

Current weight: 148 pounds

How long did it take to lose the weight: mid-July 2015 – February 2018

Why I lost the weight? Because after my husband left me I needed to get healthy so I could take care of my two boys.

My biggest challenge: My biggest challenge was during the loss of my mom staying focused on eating clean when everyone was bringing in food for us to eat. I gained ten pounds in ten days because of what I was eating and not getting in thirty minutes of some form of exercise. I’m back in plan now!

How did I lose it: Watching my portions, eating lean meats and making sure to get at least thirty minutes of exercise in 5-6 days a week.

Favorite healthy food: Quinoa breakfast with almond milk, bananas and nuts. Grilled salmon for dinner with squash and zucchini.

What keeps me motivated: The new man in my life, my kids and knowing my mom loved seeing me lose the weight!

How has my life changed: I can keep up with my two boys now and I couldn’t when I was 232 pounds. I love playing “man hunt” with my two boys and my boyfriend’s three boys.

Lesson learned: I don’t ever want to be 232 pounds again so I know I need to watch what I eat by making healthy choices and that it’s okay to take 30-45 minutes for myself daily to exercise.
