In a generous show of community support, Whataburger sponsored the entire week of Spring Break Camp at the McCleskey–East Cobb Family YMCA, covering the full cost for 60 Atlanta-area kids. With a $21,500 check presented to YMCA leadership, the experience was completely free for families—turning an already popular camp into an unforgettable opportunity for local children. And just when campers thought it couldn’t get any better, the surprises kept coming.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts made a special appearance, bringing plenty of excitement! Campers lined up with big smiles for autographs, photos, and the chance to toss the football with one of Atlanta’s favorite players. Pitts didn’t just stop by—he jumped right into the action, racing campers, throwing passes, and signing everything from mini footballs to bright orange capes.
Kids fully embraced the moment, “oranging out” in Whataburger capes and sunglasses while enjoying meals fresh from the Whataburger food truck, along with their signature Whatafreshers.

Adding to the fun, Freddie the Falcon made an appearance of his own, dancing with campers, playing games, and even hopping behind the wheel of the Whataburger food truck for a memorable photo moment.

The highlight of the day was the official check presentation, bringing together Whataburger representatives, YMCA leadership, and Kyle Pitts to celebrate what this week truly meant—removing barriers and creating access for families right here in our community.

It was more than just a fun day—it was a reminder of what makes East Cobb so special.

When local organizations and businesses come together with a shared goal, the impact goes far beyond a single event. It creates lasting memories, strengthens community connections, and ensures that every child has the chance to experience something meaningful.

From football tosses to food truck favorites, this Spring Break camp delivered smiles all around—and set the bar high for what community partnership can look like in East Cobb.
