As Georgia families prepare for the start of a new school year, Whataburger is partnering with local organizations across Cobb County to help address two of the biggest back-to-school challenges: access to nutritious food and essential school supplies.
Through two recent community initiatives supporting Cobb County, Whataburger helped support local families by providing over 300 backpacks full of school supply kits, 500 meals, fresh groceries, and other essential resources ahead of the first day of school. We’ve attached photos from both events.
• Preparing Students for the First Day of School
◦ On July 18, Whataburger partnered with District Attorney Sonya F. Allen, the Redbud Blossom Family Justice Center and local community organizations to host a free Back-to-School Summer Block Party in Marietta. Families enjoyed complimentary Whataburger meals while students received backpacks and school supplies (while supplies lasted), complimentary haircuts, family activities and access to community resources to help them start the school year with confidence.
• Helping Families Access Fresh Food
◦ On July 21, Whataburger partnered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to host a Mobile Food Pantry at Bumbry Elementary School in Marietta. Approximately 300–350 families received fresh groceries, school supplies, clear backpacks and other essentials, while the Whataburger Food Truckserved hot meals to attendees. Whataburger Family Members also volunteered alongside Atlanta Community Food Bank staff and community partners to distribute resources ahead of the new school year.
