Frosty! A Very Merry Musical! It’s December 23rd and Paddy Moran, a homeless man living in Central Park, befriends an orphan named Billy who has come to New York in order to keep a promise made to his mother: to build the best snowman ever. Billy builds a snowman and places a magical hat on its head, christening his new friend “Frosty.” Magically, Frosty comes to life and leads Billy on an adventure through the streets of New York. Bonsai Study Group. Rodney Clemons, Bonsai Curator, visits Smith-Gilbert Gardens to oversee, evaluate, care for, and prune the Gardens’ bonsai collection. Along with a small group of well-trained and very experienced volunteers, Rodney provides expert care in all aspects of maintaining the collection. Hyde Farm Tour. A wonderful way to spend your Saturday morning, walking and learning the history of life on the farm in Cobb County with a 45-minute tour. Treat yourself to the 135 acres that make up the farm, including natural features such as the Chattahoochee River and forested areas, as well as terraced agricultural fields and our resident chickens that always welcome the public. 10am & 11am. Sleighbells on the Square 5K, 1K and Tot Trot. Bring the family and help raise funds for Cobb Children’s Emergency Fund. The Fund provides emergency grants to Cobb County households facing financial emergencies or crises. Race day activities include appearances by costumed characters, face-painting for the kids and jingle bells for runners’ shoes. The Strand Theatre will open its doors for a quick warm-up, coffee, hot chocolate and a free movie for the kids. Festive holiday attire is encouraged, and a prize will be awarded for most festive attire. Peachtree qualifier race.
