The East Cobb County Council of PTAs (ECCC PTA) supports 35 PTAs in our East Cobb schools. Our PTAs advocate for students and enhance their school’s climate to provide amazing educational experiences for all. PTA volunteers are hard-working and dedicated.
While recognition usually comes from hugs, kisses and thanks from students and staff, the ECCC PTA is thrilled to announce these ECCC PTAs achieved the prestigious “National School of Excellence” status. This remarkable achievement reflects the unwavering commitment and tireless efforts of everyone involved.
National PTA honored 368 PTAs across the US and Department of Defense schools in Europe as 2022-2024 National PTA Schools of Excellence for building strong partnerships between families and their school that are enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. Of those 368 PTAs being honored, 7 are ECCC PTAs:
BELLS FERRY ES PTA
DAVIS ES PTA
EAST SIDE ES PTA
MOUNTAIN VIEW ES PTA
POPE HS PTSA
SIMPSON MS PTSA
SOPE CREEK ES PTA
National PTA also awards the Phoebe Apperson Hearst Award—the association’s highest honor – cele brating effective family-school partnerships. We proudly announce Bells Ferry Elementary PTA as one of three schools receiving this honor!
Earning National School of Excellence status entails a year-long commitment to strengthening family-school partnerships, where PTAs collect feedback from their communities, involve families in decision-making, and implement improved plans of action which improves family engagement and enhances every child’s expe rience. The program opens the lines of communication and critical thinking within schools to make data-driven decisions yielding long-term benefits.
This accolade is a testament to the dedication of PTA members, the support of staff, and the engagement of the entire community. It celebrates PTAs exceeding the high standards of parent-teacher collaboration, community involvement, and student support.
These PTAs worked to enhance the educational experience for children by organizing countless events, fundraisers, and initiatives enriching the school environment, improving resources, and creating lasting mem ories. The cooperation they foster is inspiring and further demonstrates PTAs are not just auxiliary organizations, but are an indispensable part of their school’s success, proving when parents and teachers come together with a shared vision, the possibilities are endless, and the impact profound.
As we celebrate, remember that our journey doesn’t end here. We must continue working together, setting higher goals, and striving for continuous improvement, ensuring our schools remain places of excellence, where students receive only the best education and support.
