On a sunny Saturday, September 9th, the tight-knit community of East Cobb gathered once again to  uphold a beloved local tradition: the 25th annual EAST COBBER Parade & Festival. With the participation  of over 1,200 individuals from 80 diverse groups, the event transformed Johnson Ferry Road into a lively  celebration of all things East Cobb! The parade kicked off at 10 am, originating from the Mt. Bethel Elementary  School’s parking lot. Early birds lined up along Johnson Ferry Road to secure the best vantage points.  Attendees of all ages delighted in the procession, featuring an array of floats, performances from young to  young at heart, spirited marching bands, mascots and vintage automobiles.

The event also showcased East Cobb schools, where principals and “Teachers-of-the-Year” were honored.  The EAST COBBER Parade has affectionately earned the moniker “The Candy Parade” because virtually  every participant distributed candy to the enthusiastic crowd. Special thanks are due to the Cobb County  Police and Cobb County Sheriff’s Office for ensuring the safety of both parade participants and spectators.  We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the presenting sponsor, CertaPro Painters, and community sponsor,  Custom Disposal, for their invaluable financial support, which plays a pivotal role in ensuring the continued  success of this cherished, long-standing event that has firmly established itself as a cornerstone of East Cobb.  Photo credit: Ed Turlington Photography.
