The Cobb Schools Foundation’s annual golf tournament raised a record $98,000 to support scholarships and programs benefiting Cobb County students. Held at Brookstone Country Club in Acworth, the sold-out event welcomed 130 golfers and more than 40 sponsors, demonstrating the community’s continued commitment to student success.
Proceeds will fund $2,000 scholarships for two graduating seniors from each of Cobb’s 17 high schools, along with three $5,000 perseverance awards recognizing students who have overcome significant challenges.
“The golf tournament brings our community together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students,” said Foundation Executive Director Felicia Wagner. “We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, golfers and volunteers for helping us achieve our highest fundraising total to date.”
Beyond scholarships, the Cobb Schools Foundation supports students experiencing homelessness, provides sensoryrooms for students with special learning needs and assists families facing crises. The tournament’s Birdie Sponsors included Publix Charities, Ed Voyles Automotive Group, Winter Construction,Lenovo/CDW, Education Planners and Credit Union of Georgia.
“We’re all here for the same cause—to support Cobb County Schools and the Cobb Schools Foundation,” said AmandaArnold, Credit Union of Georgia’s director of community outreach. “We are proud to be part of this community and to support Cobb students.”
The Ed Voyles Automotive Group team took home first-place honors, but the greatest victory belonged to Cobb students, whose educational opportunities will benefit from the record-setting fundraiser.
The Foundation extends its appreciation to Brookstone Country Club for hosting the tournament and 1885 Grill for providing lunch. The event’s success reflects the generosity and dedication of the community in helping Cobb students reach their full potential.
