Dr. Marianna Kovitch gave Marietta residents a new reason to smile with the opening of Modern Dental Center , located at 4608 Lower Roswell Road. After extensive renovations, the 6,000-square-foot former Mt. Bethel Community Center, has been transformed into a state-of-the-art dental destination.
The grand opening, held on Nov. 2, 2024, drew more than 200 attendees and featured food trucks, a bar, and valet parking.
Dr. Kovitch is a board-certified dentist specializing in general and family dentistry, esthetics, and sleep medicine. She is highly trained in cosmetic dentistry, including bonding, porcelain veneers, and full-mouth rehabilitation.
Originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, Dr. Kovitch moved to Atlanta with her family in 1989 as legal refugees. She grew up in Roswell and pursued her undergraduate studies at Georgia State University, graduating cum laude with research in honors before earning her dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Kovitch wanted to understand why some patients’ veneers and crowns would break. Her studies led her to the connection between sleep apnea, snoring, and dental breakdown. In 2018, she became board certified in dental sleep medicine by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine . Today, she offers oral appliance therapy to improve both teeth and sleep quality.
Dr. Kovitch was ready to return to her East Cobb roots after 13 years of practicing dentistry in Buckhead. She and her husband, Samuel Kovitch, an aerospace engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration and a Georgia Tech graduate, live locally with their two children, Benny, 11, and Maya, 8. The family enjoys spending time together at gymnastic competitions and baseball games, playing with their goldendoodle, Cosmo, and dining at Seed Kitchen & Bar .
Modern Dental Center is designed with patient comfort in mind, offering a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. Patients can enjoy a stocked beverage station, a cozy seating area, and wall-mounted televisions. The practice features top-of-the-line comfortable dental chairs equipped with nitrous oxide for especially nervous patients.
The center also boasts a spacious lecture hall available for rent for continuing education, work meetings, and more.
Dr. Kovitch is supported by a skilled team of dental assistants, hygienists, and office managers who prioritize patient care with kindness and a touch of humor. Patients can access their records and schedule appointments through the practice’s online portal.
Currently, 2,000 square feet of Modern Dental Center remains unfinished. Dr. Kovitch plans to expand by adding another dentist and a specialist to provide a variety of services under one roof.
Modern Dental Center operates as a fee-for-service practice, accepting and filing all insurance claims for patients who can go out of network. A membership option is available for those without dental insurance.
“If you are looking for a quality, family dentist who you want to grow with, that’s who I am,” says Dr. Kovitch.
Modern Dental Center is open Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment, call 770-615-6510 or visit moderndentalcenterec.com.
