The East Cobb Business Association held its monthly meeting last Tuesday, October 23, at the Olde Towne Athletic Club. This event was highlighted when ECBA President Jim Harris presented the first annual Business of the Year Award to Cynthia Rozzo, Founder and Publisher of EAST COBBER.  The Business of the Year Award recognizes a small business for its demonstrated success, innovation, contributions to economic growth and community involvement. Cynthia also received an Honorary Lifetime Membership to the East Cobb Business Association.

As the ECBA President, Jim Harris, stated, “The [ECBA] board wanted to honor Cynthia’s 25 years of dedication to the East Cobb community. . . To date, the EAST COBBER has published 284 monthly issues, 260 weekly e-newsletters, and produced 23 parade and festivals. Her small business really makes a difference in our community and an even better place to live.” Jim also noted Cynthia’s early involvement in the ECBA as its first President. “We felt it was appropriate to select Cynthia/the EAST COBBER as the inaugural recipient of this special award,” said Jim.

As Cynthia accepted the award, she described her love for East Cobb and her business, “I am such a lucky girl… for the past 25 years, I have been able to use my talents, get involved in my community, be home for my three babies while they were growing up and to be able to make some money…”  After her acceptance speech, Cynthia acknowledged the East Cobb residents that have been featured on previous cover profiles and had their specific issue on hand as well as a gift for the recipients to take home.
