Keep Cobb Beautiful staff is hosting a free medication disposal event at two locations 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 24: Precinct One (2380 Cobb Parkway NW, Kennesaw) and C. Freeman Poole Senior Center (4025 South Hurt Road NW, Smyrna).
Staff and law enforcement personnel will be at each location during the designated hours to collect medications that will be properly disposed in compliance with federal law. Medicines do not have to be removed from their containers and labels do not have to be removed. Everything collected will be immediately sealed in boxes and destroyed.
Accepted items: Prescription, over-the-counter in liquid and pill form, ointments, patches, creams, vials, pet medicines
Items not accepted: Needles, sharps of any type, EpiPen, durable medical equipment (CPAP, nebulizers, etc.), illegal drugs, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing body fluid or blood), mercury thermometers, personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc.), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas, etc.)
Note: Nothing will be accepted at this address or by any Cobb County staff before or after the scheduled drop-off day.
