SATURDAY, JUNE 29
155th Anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. In June 1864, the armies of Generals William T. Sherman and Joseph E. Johnston clashed in a brutal contest. Celebrate and remember the sacrifice and resolve of both sides during this fierce battle. Activities include talks, walks, hikes, Living History programs (to include artillery, infantry, and civilian programs), children’s games, and more.

Take a Bike Ride on the Silver Comet Trail. Situated along nearly 13 miles of abandoned railroad tracks in south Cobb County, the multi-use Silver Comet Trail is dotted with pocket parks, gorgeous scenery and four trailheads with ample parking.

MONDAY, JULY 1
An American Celebration Concert. An American Celebration concert featuring music by the Johnson Ferry Choir and Orchestra. An Ice Cream Social will follow the concert in the Fellowship Hall. Bring a carton of your favorite ice cream to the Fellowship Hall prior to the concert (not required) and return afterwards to enjoy!

Alpharetta and Old Milton County History Museum. A great new addition to Alpharetta’s history is this permanent collection of artifacts and interpretative displays that bring Alpharetta’s heritage to life. Listen to the rich stories of the descendants of Alpharetta families, view artifacts and memorabilia contributed by many local residents.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 3
Salute to America. The City of Kennesaw’s 2019 pre-Independence Day celebration of freedom, music and fireworks is one of the biggest and best in North Georgia! Salute to America event-goers will be treated to two stages of live music, festive street entertainment, food vendors and plenty of activities for the kids.
Cost: Free admission
Time: 6-10pm. Fireworks begin at 9:30pm.

THURSDAY, JULY 4
Celebrate July 4th on the Marietta Square with the City! Grab your American flag, put on your red, white and blue, and celebrate America’s independence with an Independence Day parade and celebration on the Square.
The Marietta Independence Day parade starts at 10am at Roswell Street Baptist Church and ends at North Marietta Parkway. It will be followed by concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts, carnival games, and a fireworks finale at dark in Glover Park/Marietta Square.
Cost: Free admission
Time: Parade: 10am-12:15pm; Arts and crafts show, food concessions, and carnival games:10am-9 pm; Fireworks: around 9:30pm.

Anne Frank in the World Exhibit. This 600 photograph exhibit tells the story of young Anne Frank, from her days of freedom in the 1930s to her hiding with her family in Amsterdam, to her 1945 death in the Bergen-Belson concentration camp. This powerful, moving exhibit provides visitors a chance to learn, explore, share and remember the history and lessons of the Holocaust and its continued relevance today.
