If you get a thrill from things that go bump in the night, these local celebrations of Halloween will get your heart pumping. SLEEPY HOLLOW FARM

Sleepy Hollow Farm in Cobb County opens to the public on Sept. 26, and will feature a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, sunflower fields, animal feeding, a kid’s area, family photography sessions, and much more. Hayrides cost $12. Wednesday – Sunday: 10am-6pm (must arrive by 5pm)

CORN ON THE COBB
September through November
Still Family Farm in Cobb County is hosting “Corn on the Cobb” on its 11 acres of farmland. This fall festival includes a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, hayrides, pump duck races, an heirloom tractor display, and more! Admission is $15 per person, plus applicable sales tax. That time of year is approaching. Every Friday and Saturday in October again this year the City of Acworth will be offering walking Ghost Tours in Downtown Acworth. Acworth’s history and ghost stories are shared by a tour guide. Starts at 7:30pm. Walking tour is 1.2 miles, lasting 1 ½ hours. Meet at the plaza across from Acworth City Hall.

This tour is the original that made Ghosts of Marietta famous. Here you will find yourself walking the streets of the haunted city of Marietta by lantern light, guided by one of our talented storytellers. FLASHLIGHT TOURS

On select Saturday nights in October, grab a flashlight and see the Root House set for a Victorian-style funeral. 19th century embalming equipment, mourning jewelry made from human hair, and other curious artifacts related to death and mourning in the Victorian era will be on display. Halloween Hikes at CNC are the perfect non–scary alternative to your traditional Halloween events. City of Kennesaw Parks & Recreation beckons area ghouls, ninjas, superheroes and princesses to “Spook-Central Park” for its annual Fall-O-Ween Fest at Swift-Cantrell Park on Saturday, October 17 from 4-9 pm. Admission is free. Activities include Miss Gail’s Music Dance Party for toddlers, a witch hunt scavenger hunt, costume contests, a trick or treat trail where attendees will receive candy, crafts and more and a showing of Walt Disney Pictures’ Halloweentown! The field will be marked with family squares to ensure social distancing.
