MUST Ministries will host one of its largest fundraisers of the year this Saturday, when six local celebrities and community leaders compete in MUST Dance on July 17. The event, modeled after the popular “Dancing with the Stars” television show, will pair local leaders with professional dancers from Celebrity Ballroom Dance Studio to compete for that coveted mirror ball and raise money for MUST Ministries. The funds raised through voting, donations, sponsorships, ticket sales and auction items will directly benefit MUST, helping people escape poverty and homelessness.

This year’s celebrities include:

  • Jerry Cooper, former county manager of Cherokee County
  • Allie Elson, executive administrator for Technical & Scientific Application, Inc. (TSA)
  • Christina Herrera, director of operations, marketing and human resources at Three-13 Salon, Spa & Boutique
  • Bridges Holmes, director of diversity and talent management at MarketSource, Inc.
  • East Cobber Carolyn Polakowski, founder and owner of Cay Communications, LLC
  • Jen Starks, director of community relations at Piedmont Injury Law
  • Wilson Washington, founder and owner of Truck Fitness, LLC

The dance competition portion of the evening will take place at Piedmont Church (570 Piedmont Road, Marietta) on Saturday, July 17, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cocktail attire is encouraged and the event will also include a silent auction, heavy appetizers and other opportunities to support the dancers and MUST Ministries.

Immediately following the competition, attendees are invited to the after-party hosted by Celebrity Ballroom Dance Studios at its studio (2727 Canton Road Suite 520, Marietta). The after-party will include adult beverages, food, opportunities to mingle with the dancers and even a dance party where attendees can learn some moves of their own with the celebrity dancers and CBDS’s professional dance instructors.
